Plastics Industry Awards 2014

Once again, our director Peter Reed has been asked to be on the judging panel for the Plastics Industry Awards 2014, which is often referred to as the industry’s equivalent to the ‘Oscars’.

The awards were launched in 2001 to recognise and celebrate excellence in materials usage, design and manufacturing as well as training and environmental performance. This year’s event is set to be a big night with famous comedian Al Murray aka Pub Landlord hosting the event and an expected 800 people attending.

This year’s gala is taking place at the prestigious Hilton hotel on Park Lane in London on 24 October. With the application deadline recently extended to May 23, Peter is excited to see the entries. He said: “Trig Creative entered the awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and were finalist for three years consecutively. It was nerve racking waiting for the announcement and we were extremely proud to be recognised as a finalist. So I know how the entrants must be feeling – it’s a big deal and receiving recognition can make a huge difference to a business.

“I’m so pleased to be part of the judging panel again as its rewarding and encouraging seeing all the innovative and amazing things happening in the industry, and to work alongside some of the industry’s leading professionals. But, I’m sure once again, we’ll all find the judging extremely difficult.”

There are 16 categories for entry. You can find further information about each one here.

So it looks like Peter’s got a busy time ahead of him. And there’s still time to enter if you hurry. If you want to discuss the awards further, give Peter a call as he’d be delighted to chat about it. And if you’ve already entered, the Trig team would like to wish you the best of luck! See you on the night…..
